Date: 29 September
Location: Neil's house
Attendants: Kate Ryan, Neil O'Donnell, Stephen Purtell, Maggie Fagan
We switched location cos my mam was sick and grumpy and Neil kindly drove us to his house to get our poker on. Stephen brought his chips and pepsi and we proceeded to play a four man game.
For once I was a strong chip lead for the game, for the only reason that I was getting lucky cards, winning a lot of two pair hands. Kate surprised us all by almost going out and making a comeback. She beat Neil with a straight that she got a the river and got pocket Aces twice! Neil was out first due to his shit cards closely followed by Stephen.
Kate and I played a longgg head to head battle. Since the blinds were so high it at times got really close. I went all in on 2, 9 cos there was a 2 on the board and Kate had 3, 4 and there was 3 and 4 on the board. The river was a 9 which brought me back in.
I ended up winning after a long a tiring battle.
The end.

Poker night # 5
Date: 21 September
Location: Maggie's house
Attendants: Stephen Purtell, Jane Wilson, Kate Ryan, Neil O'Donnell, Bob Power, Maggie Fagan with Eimear Shannon watching
This one's more fresh in my mind.
Stephen brought Pepsi which I think might become a bit of a tradition in poker nights to come. My mam was nice enough to make sandwiches for everyone while we were waiting for the chips to be set up.
Neil was taking the lead for most of this game, and Jane, Bob and I all bought back in, but there wasn't enough chips by the time I was buying back in so Neil sold me his chips which was nice of him! And probably cost him the game :/ Sorry Neil!
After buying back in and Neil selling his chips, Jane and Bob took storm.
Memorable hand: Stephen had 4 of a kind Aces! I can't remember who he was against though... Someone remind me!
It ended with Bob and Jane going head to head and Bob being the victor with a nice prize as there was a few buy-back-in-ers.

Poker night #4
Date: Unknown
Location: Maggie's house
Attendants: Rory Bonass, Stephen Purtell, David Doyle, Neil O'Donnell, Maggie Fagan, Liam Creagh, Bob Power and Jane Wilson as a watcher
A full table with Liams sweet poker chips made this night memorable. David Doyle was a randomer with an I.O.U and still owes Stephen a fiver.
Memorable hand: I had pocket Queens (which Liam Creagh predicted!?) and David Doyle had pocket Jacks. A Jack came out on the flop and he made a bet. Thinking I had the over pair I raised and he called. The next card was unimportant but we still bet so the pot was quite high. Out on the river was a Queen and I raised the pot up again, David calling. We showed our cards and I was so surprised to see that he had 3 of a kind Jacks and only the river saved me!
The last 3 left in were Neil, Rory and Purtell, and I think Stephen won. I can't really remember....

Poker night #3
Date: August 3 2009
Location: Maggie's house
Attendants: Stephen Purtel, Kate Ryan, Neil O'Donnell, Brian Daly, Neil O'Donnell, Maggie Fagan,
Stephen and Brian had just come home from Oxegen and were hungry and tired. My mam had made chilli for our poker guests which Stephen still talks about to this day.
Memorable hand: I was the chip leader and up against Stephen. I had 3 of a kind and he got a full house on the turn. I bet loads he raised me loads and pretty much took all my chips. I ended up buying back in... and have been weary of Stephen ever since this hand.
It was turning into a late night poker night and Stephen started going all in cos he was tired. People were calling him because they knew he just wanted to go home and what a mistake that was! Eventually he won and went home to bed happy.

Poker Night #2
Perhaps this was in Neil's house?
If so, battling it out for the title of poker champion was: Neil O'Donnell, Mark Byrne, John Byrne, Andy Munnelly, Kate Ryan, Maggie Fagan and Rory Bonass, with Al Cleary and Andrew Linn watching. It ended with Andy 'I didn't even know I had a flush' Munnelly and Rory 'aggressive to the max' Bonass head to head with Rory being the victor.
From this day on it was Neil's goal to beat Rory.

Poker night # 1
Although it was long ago and the details are quite hazy, here goes.
Location: Maggie's house
Attendendants: Bob Power, Liam Creagh, Alex Heenan, Neil O'Donnell, Maggie Fagan, Kate Ryan, Stephen Purtell
From what I can remember Alex was out first then went home, Liam Creagh didn't bring his poker chips and Neil and I were head to head ending with a victory for me.
It was the first of many a poker night.
